    Illinois State University, founded in 1857, is the oldest public university in Illinois.     General Summary

    The Program Coordinator serves as advisor to Interfraternity Council, College Panhellenic Council, Black Greek Leadership Council, and/or United Greek Council. The Program Coordinator develops and coordinates programs and services for chapters and members, with emphasis on recruitment and intake, housing, risk reduction, diversity and inclusion, and leadership and organizational development. The Program Coordinator helps manage the formal recruitment process for College Panhellenic Council and Interfraternity Council including planning, implementation, and assessment. They provide support to culturally based chapters in their membership intake as well. Additionally, the Program Coordinator maintains relationships with national organizations, assists with conduct violation investigations, maintains chapter data, and travels with student delegations to conferences. The Program Coordinator supervises graduate assistants, student employees, and interns. 

    Required Qualifications

    1. Bachelor's or equivalent degree.

    2. Two (2) years of full-time professional experience working with students in a higher education environment.
    *Note: Master's degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for this work experience.

    If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources. 
     

    Desired Qualifications:

    1. Master's degree in higher education administration, college student personnel administration, counseling, or a related field.

    2. Experience working with a diverse student population.

    Hiring Rate/Range

    minimum of $35,568 annual  

    Work Hours

    Core Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday; some evening and weekend work required

    The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position, you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience, and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline, the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.

    Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
