BDN is committed to working for and with its members and the communities they serve in order to foster and promote engaged scholarship. It is because of this commitment; BDN deems it essential to provide the available space for women and led by women within the network. Women of BDN is a cross-disciplinary division designed to address the particular needs of women in the academy and beyond. This division provides a forum for women to reflect, discuss, and actively work towards tackling the specific challenges regarding issues of inequality, race, ethnicity, and gender. It is the goal of Women of BDN to enhance the lives of women and to empower them in their academic, personal, professional development, and community efforts.

BDN LatinosBDN believes that a coalition of Blacks and Latinos is essential to advance racial and social justice in America. Latinos de BDN is a division within the organization examining the issues Latinos face in the academy, and in the workforce. This division is conceived as a space for organizing, educating, raising consciousness, and mapping ideas and practices to better the standing of Latinos in the academy. | 
Mental HealthNow more than ever academics find themselves under pressure to perform under difficult circumstances. One in five adults experiences some form of mental illness each year. Prioritizing mental health is extremely important. BDN provides workshops for members to help them prioritize their mental health and deal with the challenges of stigma, imposter syndrome, and many other issues that inhibit their overall health and wellness | 
Career CenterBDN functions as a resource, a support system, a space of intellectual exchange, and a place to create connections and develop collaborations. The BDN Job Bank operates as a resource for employers and job seekers alike. Employment opportunities are submitted by our member institutions and individuals. The job posts are for qualified undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and administrators. |
Underrepresented students in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields often face particular hardships, including feelings of isolation. BDN is committed to working for and with its members to engage in relevant discussion that spans across all STEM fields and exposes underrepresented minorities throughout the STEM pipeline to opportunities for advancement, as well as a safe haven to discuss these perceptions with their peers. The "BDN STEM’mers" is a division devoted to addressing the particular needs of scholars in the STEM fields, both academically and personally.
