Description of the Workshop:

As the world is racing into the fourth industrial revolution, public education must keep up with the changes. The fourth industrial revolution encompasses many aspects of the digital age, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Internet of Things. An important part of navigating this technology-driven world is the ability of teachers to adapt their instruction to meet the needs of students. In order to do this, teachers must be provided with effective professional learning that prepares them to shift and improve instruction for the students. This workshop will discuss the importance of preparing teachers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the challenges of doing this, and how to provide effective professional learning opportunities to support teachers.

Presenter Bios:

Dr. Marissa Prather is an award-winning veteran educator and principal with more than 20 years of experience. The Global Forum of Education has acknowledged her as one of the Top 100 Visionaries in Education. Her work has been published in books and educational articles, and she is a frequent contributor to eSchool News.

Throughout her career, Dr. Prather has tirelessly advocated promoting school change for the 4th Industrial Revolution. She believes that all students should have access to the latest technological advances and the best educational opportunities, and she has dedicated her life to making sure that happens.
