Description of the Workshop:

A person leaving the workshop should have a sense if they are ready to test the labor market before graduation, learn highlights of the interviewing/hiring culture, and some tools they can use to reference later. The objectives are for people to be able to identify what are their transferable skills, assess their previous work experience to decide what to share on paper on in an interview and decide for themselves if they are ready or not test the labor market. A person will leave with some tips and materials to reference to really assess are they ready to start interviewing or strive for a job, position, or career they might never have thought of before. A new degree does represent a new part of you in your own personal and professional evolution in one's educational journey.

Presenter Bios:

Reagan S. Williams DBA is workforce development professional with 14 years of experience in managerial, business development, training coordination, and quality assurance roles throughout different counties in SE PA. She has bachelors of science degree in communications media with minors in history and journalism and public relations and a masters of arts degree in Adult and Community Education with a concentration in communications technology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Also, she holds professional certificate in instructional technology. She completed her doctorate of business administration in 2021 from William Howard Taft University. Reagan is originally from northwestern PA and resides in Philadelphia working at Per Scholas as a Sr.. Manager, Admissions & Site Operations. Her passion is promoting lifelong learning for anyone at any age or career stage.

Dr. Brian H. Sprowal, D.C.J., is a decorated law enforcement leader with three decades of experience. He is an author of, The Effect of Federal Consent Decrees on Community Policing and is a subject matter expert on community policing and federal consent decrees. Previously, he served as an adjunct professor at Harcum College (2014-2018), teaching criminal justice undergraduate courses: Police Community Relations, Policing and Police Practices, Corrections, and the Principles of Investigations.

Dr. Sprowal’s higher educational journey includes a degree in business administration with a concentration in organizational management from Gwynedd-Mercy College and a graduate degree earned at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in organizational development and leadership; in May 2020, Dr. Sprowal received his doctoral degree from California University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Sprowal is married and a father of twin boys. He enjoys long walks, swimming, and reading leadership and self-development texts to them before bedtime, not the usual Spider-Man or Dr. Seuss stories. Lastly, he looks forward to collaborating and engaging with the Black Doctoral Network Community.
