Description of the Workshop:

There are over 5 million unfilled STEAM positions in the United States. This has consequences for the role of the US as the global technological leader in the competitive global economy as well as potential threats to US security. The purpose of this fun and engaging workshop is to explore techniques for locating and applying for the myriad of STEAM positions that are available for recent graduates and those looking to transition to new careers.

Presenter Bios:

Ida has more than 20 years of experience in project management, instructional design, technology consulting, education, and research that keep her in demand as an authority and guest lecturer on emerging technologies—drones, robotics, driverless vehicles, artificial intelligence, big data, AR/VR, 3D Printing, Wearable Technologies, Getting Stakeholders on Board, and other topics. Ida is the author of Emerging Library Technologies: It’s Not Just for Geeks (Elsevier, 2018).

Ida holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Wesleyan University; a Masters of Library and Information Sciences (MLIS) from the University of Pittsburgh; and a B.A. in Administration and Management from Chatham University.
