Illinois State University, founded in 1857, is the oldest public university in Illinois. This position relates directly to new student outreach with emphasis on the recruitment of qualified prospective students. The position serves as a liaison with appropriate offices and agencies and conducting public presentations on financial aid programs. The Financial Aid Advisor is involved in the planning and administration of all recruitment and retention activities and programs. This position includes some responsibility for middle school outreach and recruitment of a diverse student population.

2. One (1) year (12 months) of full time (or part-time equivalent) of higher-education, student services, or closely related experience.
3. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam.
